You Know Craftsman & Tudor, But Do You Know Googie?
Southern California is renown for its blend of impressive historical architecture. While Pasadenans are quite comfortable with Craftsman's of the Arts & Crafts movement or Tudors and Spanish Revival casitas, the everything-amazing architecture site CurbedLA.com has broken down the myriad of architectural styles in Southern California that go well beyond the common types.
Sixteen impressive styles are covered in this recent article including some styles that I have not heard of (and I am a rabid consumer of all architecture content).
Included in the guide are the Southern California specific Googie and the mouthful Churrigueresque styles. Articles like these are great primers for novice architecture fans as well as would-be homebuyers.
Your home will, or is, you most valued possession, it is always where you will spend so much time living and building memories. Discovering your favorite style can only increase the pride of homeownership now and in the future.
One of the first questions I cover with the buyers I consult with, is what they envision their future home to look like. Not only does the positive thinking of homeownership assist in manifestation, it also uncovers neighborhoods that homeowners may not have considered.
Have you thought about your favorite style? What is it?
