Christmas Light Viewing Guide: More Than Hastings Ranch

Ahh the joys of modern holiday fun; packing the family in the car, travel mugs of cocoa and your favorite Pandora holiday music channel piped into the car's speakers.

We all know neighboring Hasting Ranch is the epicenter for holiday displays and a cruise up Christmas tree lane is a must, but what about the other parts of town, there are many new sights to behold.

But what about the Dec 10th boat parade at the Venice canals or strolling through the Enchanted display at Descanso Gardens. Torrance, Newport Beach, Riverside and others all have great displays that take advantage of the mild SoCal winters.

Note: Last year the legendary Balian House on Mendocino Lane in Altadena was not decorated. There were some rumors that the house had sold to new owners, but I do not see a record of that. Phone calls inquiring about the display were not answered.  As of December 8th, the house was not yet decorated. Fingers crossed that it will return.
