A Burst Pipe Can Ruin Your House- This Will Save You

Vacations should be a time to physically and mentally get away from the pressures of home (exactly why "staycations" don't do much for most of us).

However, the fear of whats going on at home often plagues us. Security threats and a broken water pipe top the list of concerns for most homeowners when they get away. Security systems are getting a major technological upgrade but until now, water issues were just something you hoped didn't happen. Until now.

Finland based plumbing innovation brand Uponor has teamed with SoCal based Belkin to produce a state of the art home water pressure monitoring device. Belkin is known for making internet connectivity products like routers (they own Linksys which is probably the brand of your homes internet router).

The joint venture has created a smart water-monitoring system that is capable of measuring changes in a homes water pressure. Drops in pressure could indicate leks and tiny changes could signal early stage leaks before they become disastrous.

Leak notifications are beamed to the homeowner's smartphone in real time. Called the Phyn Plus, it is slated to be available for purchase in Spring 2018.

Now you can enjoy your margarita in peace.
